The Department of Information Technology organized a session on “Achieving Value Proposition Fit” and “Business Fit” on 25th September 2025, led by Dr. Nagendra Pratap Singh from Perpetual Gravity Labs. The objective was to help students understand how to align a product’s value proposition with customer needs while ensuring a sustainable and viable business model.

Workshop on “Full Stack Web Development”

A workshop on Full Stack Web Development was conducted on 18th September to equip students with foundational knowledge of front-end and back-end technologies, databases, and integration techniques. Mr. Mahimkar guided participants through the process of designing, developing, and deploying complete web applications. The session fostered problem-solving skills and prepared students for career opportunities in software development, bridging academic learning with industry practices.

The Department of Information Technology CelebtratedThe  Engineer’s Day to honor the contributions of engineers and inspire students to embrace innovation and problem-solving. Workshop on “Cyber Security”

The Department of Information Technology organized a workshop on “Cyber Security” on 11 September 2025, conducted by Mr. Sumit Utekar, Cybersecurity & Cloud Computing Trainer. The objective of the workshop was to raise student awareness about fundamental cybersecurity concepts, emerging threats, and best practices for safeguarding digital assets. The session also aimed to prepare participants to adopt secure digital habits while introducing them to potential career opportunities in the field of cybersecurity.

The Department of Information Technology conducted a session on “How to Apply for Higher Studies Abroad” on 08 September 2025, featuring Ms. Sakshi Shinde as the speaker. The purpose of the session was to provide students with practical guidance on pursuing international education, covering university selection, application procedures, documentation requirements, and scholarship opportunities. Ms. Shinde shared her personal experiences and offered valuable insights into financial planning and cultural adaptation, which were further enriched through an interactive Q&A segment. The session successfully enhanced awareness of global academic pathways, strengthened alumni-student connections, and motivated participants to confidently pursue higher studies abroad. Hands-on Workshop on ‘Power BI Technology’

The Department of Information Technology organized a hands-on workshop on “Power BI Technology” on 2nd April 2025. The session was conducted by Ms. Namrata Modi from the All India Institute of Integrated Technical Studies, Pinnacle Technology, Kharghar.

The objective of the workshop was to empower participants with the skills and knowledge required to effectively utilize Power BI for data analysis, reporting, and visualization. The session provided practical exposure to key features of Power BI, enabling students to understand how to transform raw data into meaningful insights through interactive dashboards and reports.

The workshop proved to be highly beneficial, equipping participants with essential competencies in business intelligence tools and preparing them to apply data-driven decision-making in academic and professional contexts.

Poster Presentation Competition

The Department of  Information Technology organized a Poster Presentation Competition on 28th March 2025. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. D. S. Marathe, Head of the Department of Electronics & Telecommunication, and Dr. A. R. Sonule, Associate Professor in the Computer Department.

The competition aimed to provide students with an excellent platform for presenting innovative ideas and testing creative solutions. It encouraged participants to showcase their knowledge, analytical skills, and research aptitude in both hardware and software domains.

A total of 21 entries were received in the Hardware category and 17 entries in the Software category, reflecting enthusiastic participation and diverse perspectives from students. The event successfully fostered innovation, collaboration, and critical thinking among participants.

Session on “Emerging Trends and Applications of Generative AI”

The Department of Information Technology organized a session on “Emerging Trends and Applications of Generative AI” on 21st March 2025. The session was conducted by Mr. HemantKumar Wani, Principal Architect (GenAI) at Persistent Systems, Bangalore.

The objective of the session was to provide students with insights into the rapidly evolving field of Generative AI. Mr. Wani highlighted the latest industry trends, practical applications, and the transformative potential of GenAI across various domains. The session emphasized how Generative AI is reshaping innovation, problem-solving, and future career opportunities in technology.

The program proved to be highly informative and engaging, equipping students with valuable knowledge about emerging technologies and inspiring them to explore advanced applications of AI in their academic and professional pursuits.

Session on “Problem Solving and Ideation Workshop”

The Department of Information Technology organized a session on “Problem Solving and Ideation Workshop” on 13th March 2025. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Ganesh Iyer, a Behavioral Trainer, Start-Up Mentor, and Learning & Development Consultant from Hyderabad.

The objective of the session was to equip students with practical approaches to problem-solving and ideation. Mr. Iyer guided participants on how to define core challenges, identify root causes validated through data or stakeholder input, and evaluate and shortlist innovative ideas. The workshop also emphasized the importance of collaboration and communication in the ideation process and provided strategies for establishing actionable plans.

The session proved to be highly insightful, enabling students to develop structured thinking, enhance teamwork, and gain confidence in applying creative solutions to real-world challenges.

Workshop on “Internet of Things (IoT)”

The Department of Information Technology organized a workshop on “Internet of Things (IoT)” on 22nd January 2025. The session was conducted by student presenters:

The objective of the workshop was to introduce students to the fundamentals of IoT and provide hands-on learning experiences. The topics covered included:

  • Basics of Arduino
  • Arduino IDE
  • Working with sensors
  • Connecting a PS5 Controller to Arduino using a USB Host Shield

The workshop offered participants practical exposure to IoT concepts and tools, fostering innovation and technical skills. It served as an excellent platform for students to gain insights into real-world applications of IoT and strengthen their foundation in emerging technologies.

Workshop on “Higher Education Abroad”

The Department of Information Technology organized an online workshop on “Higher Education Abroad” on 25th October 2024. The session was conducted by Mr. Yash Hankare, Penetration Tester at Cyber Node, Perth, Western Australia.

The objective of the workshop was to provide students with valuable insights into pursuing higher education opportunities overseas. Mr. Hankare shared his experiences and expertise, guiding students on the academic pathways, skill requirements, and global prospects associated with studying abroad.

The workshop offered an excellent platform for students to understand the scope of international education and prepare themselves for future academic and professional endeavors.

Student Development Program on “React JS Fundamentals”

The Department of Information Technology organized a Student Development Program on “React JS Fundamentals” on 5th October 2024. The session was conducted by Ms. Charu Saraswat, Business Manager and Software Developer, who shared her expertise with the participants.

The objective of the program was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of React JS, a widely used JavaScript library for building user interfaces. The speaker explained key concepts, practical applications, and industry relevance, enabling students to strengthen their technical foundation and enhance their employability skills.

The primary objective of the webinar was to provide students with an understanding of the fundamentals of cyber security and to highlight the diverse career opportunities available in this rapidly growing field. The event offered valuable insights into industry trends, essential skills, and pathways for building a successful career in cyber security.

The initiative was well-received by participants and contributed significantly to raising awareness among students about the importance of cyber security in today’s digital era.

The student council of Information Technology in association with CSI had organized session on “Accelerators/Incubation-Opportunities for students and faculties-Early Stage Entrepreneurs” on 26 August 2024 for our students and faculties. Dr. Pranita Pathak Assistant Vice President (Program) SINE IITB and Dr. Priyanka Majumdar Assistant Manager (Programs) SINE IITB was the speakers. The objective of the session was to make students and faculties aware about the Incubation Opportunities and Entrepreneurship

The student council of Information Technology in association with CSI had organized mentoring session on , “Session on problem solving and Ideation workshop” on 24th January 2024. Dr. Ashish R Panat Director, Innovation Incubation and Linkages ,SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai, was the speaker for the session. The Objective of session was to Understand the root cause of a problem, Quickly generate ideas to solve it, Evaluate the ideas to ensure they’re robust and Make a plan to test or implement the solution·

Guest lecture on “Generative AI”

The student council of Information Technology in association with CSI had organized Guest lecture on “Generative AI” on March 22, 2024. Prof. Manisha Patil, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore was the speaker. The Objective of the lecture was to make students aware about the fundamenals of Generative AI.

STTP on “Cloud Computing and Its Services”

The One Week ISTE Approved Short Term Training Program on “Cloud Computing and Its Services” was organized from January 01 -06, 2024. It is designed to provide an overview of an exciting growing field of Cloud Computing with AWS and AZURE services. The one Week Short Term Training Programme started with lighting of lamp and Swarswati Vandana. A heart-warming welcome remark was delivered by Prof. Surekha A. Khot, Course Coordinator, of STTP. She told the importance and contents of the training program. The session further continued with the address of Dr. Varsha Y. Bhole who enlightened the participants about the importance of such training programs and how such programs helps in developing applications in industry. Principal Dr. V. N. Pawar shared his views on importance of such workshops for teaching fraternity

The student council of Information Technology in association with CSI had organized mentoring session on , “Lean Start-up & Minimum Viable Product/ Business” on 5th September 2023. Mr. Prashant Sadavarte, MD at Technovision Automation Private Ltd, Mumbai, was the speaker for the session. Students got awareness about the importance of Lean Start-up & Minimum Viable Product/Business. Understood the problems, solutions, Reasons for failure of Start up and Success Features of Entrepreneurship.

Seminar on “Career Opportunity after Engineering (GATE /PSUs /Private sectors) ”

The student council of Information Technology in association with CSI had organized a seminar on ” Career Opportunity after Engineering (GATE /PSUs /Private sectors)” on 29th August 2023. Mr. Arjun Chhabra, Faculty member, ACE Engg. Academy, was the speaker for the session. Students got awareness about the job opportunities of GATE-qualified candidates in areas such as Research and Development, Product Design, Project Management, and Consulting.

The student council of Information Technology in association with CSI had organized 1 day workshop on , “Internet of Things” on 28th July 2023. Mr. Suhas Parab, Commercial Embedded & IoT/ Web Based Project Developer, from i-Tech Global Solutions, Mumbai. had started the workshop on fundamentals of IoT and also conducted hands-on session on Arduino IDE

Workshop on “IPR and Patenting”

The Information Technology Department in association with IIC and CSI had organized a one day workshop on “IPR and Patenting” for students and faculties on 26th July, 2023. The speaker of the workshop was Dr. Asha Durafe Assistant Professor, Cyber Security Department, Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, Mumbai. It was a very interactive session in which our students and faculties gained knowledge regarding Intellectual Property Rights and Patenting.

Project Competition

The student council of Information Technology had organized project competition on 18th April 2023. Dr. Jayaprabha Terdale and Dr. Manjusha Deshmukh was the judge. Honorable Principal Dr. V. N. Pawar sir also visited and guided our students. Project from various domains like IoT, AIML, Blockchain technology are part of the competition

Orientation program on, “Microsoft Certification”

The student council of Information Technology in association with CloudThat had organized 1 day orientation program on , “Microsoft Certification” on 16th February 2023. Mr. Sukamal Jyoti Das, who is Microsoft certified trainer and subject matter expert at CloudThat had started the orientation with fundamentals of cloud computing, cloud platform, job opportunities in cloud computing. He also addressed our students regarding certification courses for cloud computing.

“DevCraft”

The student council of Information Technology had organized 5 day’s workshop, “DevCraft ” from 30th January to 3rd February 2023. Where Mr. Faiz Malkani, Head Of Product and Design , RIPL conducted the hands-on sessions on “UI/UX”, Mr. Smit Khakhkhar, Co-Founder and cto ,Coin Crunch conducted the hands-on sessions on “Cyber Security”. Mr. Ali Mustufa, Developer Advocate ,Postman, Mr. Nikhil Aparajit, Community Head, Lumos Labs and Mr. Ganesh Tiwari, DevOps Engineer, Netherminds had addressed our students on recent trends in IT.
