Presentation on Startup Business Ideas Startup Business Ideas
A Presentation on Startup Business Ideas was organized by the Departments of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and Computer Science on 03 November 2025, with the participation of 42 students, conducted from 10:00 PM to 1:30 PM. The activity showcased a wide range of handmade startup products developed by students, including eco-friendly crafts and home décor made from upcycled materials, customized accessories and crochet jewelry, gourmet baked goods and healthy snacks such as handmade peanut butter, and handmade stationery and personalized gifts like printed T-shirts and phone cases. Each team delivered a 7–8 minute business pitch explaining their product or service, team responsibilities, vision and mission, target audience, digital marketing strategies, financial summary, and lessons learned. The presentations were evaluated based on clarity and delivery (30%), product viability and innovation (30%), financial accuracy (20%), and response to Q&A (20%). The activity provided students with valuable exposure to startup planning, digital marketing strategies, and financial analysis, enabling them to translate their creativity and innovation into practical, real-world business applications.
Workshop on Software Testing
The Software Testing Workshop conducted on 1st October 2025 for students of the AI & DS Department, under the guidance of Prof. Vandana Sonawane, provided a structured introduction to the fundamentals of software testing and its significance in the software development lifecycle. The session covered essential theoretical concepts, including testing types, methodologies, and quality assurance practices, followed by a hands-on demonstration of the Eclipse IDE. Students were guided through test case creation, bug identification, debugging techniques, and test result analysis. The workshop effectively strengthened students’ foundational knowledge, enhanced their practical testing skills, and prepared them to apply systematic testing approaches in academic and industry-related projects.














Smart India Hackathon: Institute-Level Screening
The Smart India Hackathon – Internal Rounds, held on 26th September 2025 with participation from 150+ students across all departments, began with the felicitation of Principal Dr. Vijaykumar N. Pawar, followed by inspiring addresses from him and AI & DS HOD Prof. Shilpali P. Bansu, highlighting the importance of innovation and problem-solving. The event progressed into parallel evaluation rounds where student teams presented prototypes and solutions to faculty panels, gaining hands-on experience in pitching ideas, refining concepts, and working under structured guidelines. The internal hackathon fostered creativity, teamwork, and technical excellence, helping identify strong teams for higher SIH levels while motivating students to approach real-world challenges with confidence and innovation.
Industrial Visit
The Industrial Visit to Reliance Jio, RCP Park Ghansoli, conducted on 15th September 2025 for AI & DS students, provided valuable industry exposure to advanced communication technologies and telecom infrastructure. Students experienced Jio’s True 5G demonstrations and learned about its applications across sectors such as agriculture, automobiles, healthcare, and education. They also gained practical insights into pole-level network operations and fibre technology through sessions led by Mr. Saurabh Srivastava and Ms. Abhilasha Lawangkar Surve, with overall guidance from Mr. Manish Athalye. The visit strengthened the link between theoretical learning and real-world systems, enhanced students’ understanding of modern telecom networks, and encouraged them to explore careers in advanced communication and digital infrastructure.








Blueprint to be a successful engineer
The Blueprint to Be a Successful Engineer session held on 19th September 2025 for AI & DS students, delivered by Mr. Raghvan Koli, focused on developing smarter study habits and cultivating a strong mindset for long-term success. The speaker emphasized techniques such as active recall, spaced repetition, and focused learning, along with the importance of goal-setting, discipline, consistency, and effective time management. Through practical guidance and real-life examples, the session motivated students to adopt productive habits, stay determined, and work consistently toward academic and personal excellence.
Engineer’s Day
The Engineers’ Day Celebration on 15th September 2025 brought together AI & DS students to honour the contributions of engineers and promote innovative thinking. The event began with an inaugural address and an inspiring message from HOD Prof. Shilpali P. Bansu, followed by poster presentations and quiz competitions that encouraged creativity, technical skills, and healthy competition. The celebration fostered teamwork, analytical thinking, and professional motivation, inspiring students to value the engineering profession and strive for excellence.










Teacher’s Day
The Teacher’s Day Celebration held on 15th September 2025 brought together AI & DS students to honour and appreciate the dedication and contributions of their teachers. The program began with an inaugural speech highlighting the significance of the day, followed by an inspiring address from HOD Prof. Shilpali P. Bansu on the noble role of educators. A cake-cutting ceremony and the distribution of small gifts to faculty members symbolized the students’ gratitude, respect, and affection. The event strengthened the student–teacher bond, fostering a deeper sense of appreciation among students and reaffirming the lasting impact of teachers in shaping knowledge, character, and future success.
Orientation Program for Hack The Code Hackathon
The Hack The Core Hackathon Announcement held on 10th September 2025 for 60+ AI & DS students provided a comprehensive overview of the upcoming November 15–16 hackathon. The resource person explained the event structure, rules, domains, problem statements, evaluation criteria, and submission guidelines, ensuring students were well-prepared in advance. The session emphasized innovation, teamwork, and time management, motivating participants to begin ideating early and plan responsibilities effectively. Overall, it boosted clarity, confidence, and excitement among students, leading to greater readiness and increased participation for the hackathon.













Awareness Program on Waste Management (NEP Activity)
The Awareness Program on Waste Management held on 9th September 2025, led by social worker Ms. Merietta Pallissery, engaged 120+ students from the AI & DS and Computer departments. The session highlighted the importance of sustainable waste management, focusing on waste types, harmful effects of improper disposal, and practical methods such as segregation, recycling, and composting. Students learned about the 3Rs along with extended concepts like Refuse, Recover, and Redesign, and gained insights into the impactful work of organizations like Stree Mukti Sanghatana and Parisar Sakhi Vikas Sanstha. Through real-world examples and environmental data, the program emphasized collective responsibility, community participation, and the role of waste management in building zero-waste and sustainable cities, inspiring students to adopt eco-friendly practices and contribute to a cleaner and greener future.
Career Guidance and Opportunities for Higher Studies AbroadHigher Studies Abroad2024
The Department of AI & DS conducted a seminar titled “Career Guidance and Opportunities for Higher Studies Abroad” on 30th July 2025, delivered by alumnus Mr. Chirag Naresh Patil. With the participation of 100+ students, the session provided insights into higher education options in countries like the USA, UK, Canada, Germany, and Australia, along with the importance of exams such as GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, and GMAT. Mr. Patil also explained financial planning, scholarships, part-time work, and education loans, while offering a clear roadmap covering university shortlisting, test preparation, profile building, SOPs, recommendation letters, and visa processes. The interactive session helped students understand global opportunities in AI & DS and equipped them with essential guidance for planning their higher studies and career paths.
