Presentation on Startup Business Ideas Startup Business Ideas

A Presentation on Startup Business Ideas was organized by the Departments of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and Computer Science on 03 November 2025, with the participation of 42 students, conducted from 10:00 PM to 1:30 PM. The activity showcased a wide range of handmade startup products developed by students, including eco-friendly crafts and home décor made from upcycled materials, customized accessories and crochet jewelry, gourmet baked goods and healthy snacks such as handmade peanut butter, and handmade stationery and personalized gifts like printed T-shirts and phone cases. Each team delivered a 7–8 minute business pitch explaining their product or service, team responsibilities, vision and mission, target audience, digital marketing strategies, financial summary, and lessons learned. The presentations were evaluated based on clarity and delivery (30%), product viability and innovation (30%), financial accuracy (20%), and response to Q&A (20%). The activity provided students with valuable exposure to startup planning, digital marketing strategies, and financial analysis, enabling them to translate their creativity and innovation into practical, real-world business applications.

Workshop on Software Testing

The Software Testing Workshop conducted on 1st October 2025 for students of the AI & DS Department, under the guidance of Prof. Vandana Sonawane, provided a structured introduction to the fundamentals of software testing and its significance in the software development lifecycle. The session covered essential theoretical concepts, including testing types, methodologies, and quality assurance practices, followed by a hands-on demonstration of the Eclipse IDE. Students were guided through test case creation, bug identification, debugging techniques, and test result analysis. The workshop effectively strengthened students’ foundational knowledge, enhanced their practical testing skills, and prepared them to apply systematic testing approaches in academic and industry-related projects.

Smart India Hackathon: Institute-Level Screening

The Smart India Hackathon – Internal Rounds, held on 26th September 2025 with participation from 150+ students across all departments, began with the felicitation of Principal Dr. Vijaykumar N. Pawar, followed by inspiring addresses from him and AI & DS HOD Prof. Shilpali P. Bansu, highlighting the importance of innovation and problem-solving. The event progressed into parallel evaluation rounds where student teams presented prototypes and solutions to faculty panels, gaining hands-on experience in pitching ideas, refining concepts, and working under structured guidelines. The internal hackathon fostered creativity, teamwork, and technical excellence, helping identify strong teams for higher SIH levels while motivating students to approach real-world challenges with confidence and innovation.

Industrial Visit

The Industrial Visit to Reliance Jio, RCP Park Ghansoli, conducted on 15th September 2025 for AI & DS students, provided valuable industry exposure to advanced communication technologies and telecom infrastructure. Students experienced Jio’s True 5G demonstrations and learned about its applications across sectors such as agriculture, automobiles, healthcare, and education. They also gained practical insights into pole-level network operations and fibre technology through sessions led by Mr. Saurabh Srivastava and Ms. Abhilasha Lawangkar Surve, with overall guidance from Mr. Manish Athalye. The visit strengthened the link between theoretical learning and real-world systems, enhanced students’ understanding of modern telecom networks, and encouraged them to explore careers in advanced communication and digital infrastructure.

Blueprint to be a successful engineer

The Blueprint to Be a Successful Engineer session held on 19th September 2025 for AI & DS students, delivered by Mr. Raghvan Koli, focused on developing smarter study habits and cultivating a strong mindset for long-term success. The speaker emphasized techniques such as active recall, spaced repetition, and focused learning, along with the importance of goal-setting, discipline, consistency, and effective time management. Through practical guidance and real-life examples, the session motivated students to adopt productive habits, stay determined, and work consistently toward academic and personal excellence.

Engineer’s Day

The Engineers’ Day Celebration on 15th September 2025 brought together AI & DS students to honour the contributions of engineers and promote innovative thinking. The event began with an inaugural address and an inspiring message from HOD Prof. Shilpali P. Bansu, followed by poster presentations and quiz competitions that encouraged creativity, technical skills, and healthy competition. The celebration fostered teamwork, analytical thinking, and professional motivation, inspiring students to value the engineering profession and strive for excellence.

Teacher’s Day

The Teacher’s Day Celebration held on 15th September 2025 brought together AI & DS students to honour and appreciate the dedication and contributions of their teachers. The program began with an inaugural speech highlighting the significance of the day, followed by an inspiring address from HOD Prof. Shilpali P. Bansu on the noble role of educators. A cake-cutting ceremony and the distribution of small gifts to faculty members symbolized the students’ gratitude, respect, and affection. The event strengthened the student–teacher bond, fostering a deeper sense of appreciation among students and reaffirming the lasting impact of teachers in shaping knowledge, character, and future success.

Orientation Program for Hack The Code Hackathon

The Hack The Core Hackathon Announcement held on 10th September 2025 for 60+ AI & DS students provided a comprehensive overview of the upcoming November 15–16 hackathon. The resource person explained the event structure, rules, domains, problem statements, evaluation criteria, and submission guidelines, ensuring students were well-prepared in advance. The session emphasized innovation, teamwork, and time management, motivating participants to begin ideating early and plan responsibilities effectively. Overall, it boosted clarity, confidence, and excitement among students, leading to greater readiness and increased participation for the hackathon.

Awareness Program on Waste Management (NEP Activity)

The Awareness Program on Waste Management held on 9th September 2025, led by social worker Ms. Merietta Pallissery, engaged 120+ students from the AI & DS and Computer departments. The session highlighted the importance of sustainable waste management, focusing on waste types, harmful effects of improper disposal, and practical methods such as segregation, recycling, and composting. Students learned about the 3Rs along with extended concepts like Refuse, Recover, and Redesign, and gained insights into the impactful work of organizations like Stree Mukti Sanghatana and Parisar Sakhi Vikas Sanstha. Through real-world examples and environmental data, the program emphasized collective responsibility, community participation, and the role of waste management in building zero-waste and sustainable cities, inspiring students to adopt eco-friendly practices and contribute to a cleaner and greener future.

Career Guidance and Opportunities for Higher Studies AbroadHigher Studies Abroad2024

The Department of AI & DS conducted a seminar titled “Career Guidance and Opportunities for Higher Studies Abroad” on 30th July 2025, delivered by alumnus Mr. Chirag Naresh Patil. With the participation of 100+ students, the session provided insights into higher education options in countries like the USA, UK, Canada, Germany, and Australia, along with the importance of exams such as GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, and GMAT. Mr. Patil also explained financial planning, scholarships, part-time work, and education loans, while offering a clear roadmap covering university shortlisting, test preparation, profile building, SOPs, recommendation letters, and visa processes. The interactive session helped students understand global opportunities in AI & DS and equipped them with essential guidance for planning their higher studies and career paths.

Seminar on “Abroad Studies with Scholarships

The Artificial Intelligence & Data Science department organized a Seminar about Abroad Studies with Scholarships on 1st October 2024. The resource person was Mr. Suraj Choudhar, Next Step. He introduced students with the information that many deemed universities abroad (US, UK, Ireland, Zurich, and so on) give scholarships to students that help to pursue their Masters with Zero to 70-80% discounted tuition fees. The speaker discussed the Tuition fees of various esteemed Universities. He also cleared myths about life during Masters abroad. He motivated a lot of students in pursuing Masters abroad with zero to minimal fees.

Seminar on Guidelines & Strategies for SIH 2024

Guidelines & Strategies for SIH 2024 Seminar was organized by SHAIDS (Student Hub of AI & DS) on 10 th September 2024. The resource Person was Mr. Ali Mustufa, Senior Developer Advocate at Postman. He delivered a detailed presentation on participating in the Smart India Hackathon (SIH). He guided participants through SIH ideas, strategies for choosing topics with minimal submissions, and the importance of focusing on basic concepts and iterating on features. Mr. Mustufa also offered practical advice on creating effective PowerPoint presentations and forming ideal teams.

Teachers Day Celebration

On 5th September 2024, CSI committee of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science organized Teachers Day Celebration. The event began with warm welcome and hurtful appreciation session where students took time to express their gratitude for guidance, support and wisdom that the teachers have continuously provided.

Group Discussion Competition

The CSI student council of the AI & DS department had organized a Group Discussion Competition for students to enhance communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills, fostering collaboration innovation and Productivity. Students learned how to engage in group discussions and articulate their ideas to distinguish them from other members. The competition boosted Students self-confidence, enabling them to express their viewpoints more assertively in group settings.

Seminar on UI/UX Design

The Artificial Intelligence & Data Science department organized a Seminar on UI/UX design on 14 August 2024. The speaker was Mr. Abhishek Kashid, CEO and Cofounder of Paux Academy and Alumni of A.C Patil College of Engineering. He explained in detail about UI/UX covering topics like practical knowledge, its components, and architecture. Furthermore, he also discussed the evolving role of AI in design and provided valuable insights for newcomers on how to enter this field. He also speaks about the latest technologies through engaging and interactive sessions.Students gained a clear understanding of the fundamental principles and practical applications of product UI/UX design.The session encouraged students to embrace creativity and innovation in their design work.

Seminar on How to Plan for Start-Up & Legal Ethical Steps

How to Plan for Start-Up & Legal, Ethical Steps seminar was organized by our AI & DS department on 09 August 2024. Resource Persons for this seminar are Mr Nohid Chougle, partner at Quaestio LLP and CA Mr Darpan Juthani, Advisory at The Quaestio and Proprietor at Darpan Juthani & Co. They discussed the crucial financial processes involved in launching a new startup and He provided insights into the necessary steps for registering a company and elaborated on the formation of private companies. Finally they conclude the topic by elaborating the importance of scalability planning, offering strategies for sustainable growth in the start-ups.Students gained a comprehensive understanding of the financial processes crucial for launching a start-up, including company registration and the formation of private companies.

Project Competition

Project competition was organized by Jawahar Education Society’s A. C. Patil College of Engineering, Department of AI & DS on April 18, 2024. Students got a platform to present their working Project model. Participation certificates were awarded for every participant.

Workshop on Developing Desktop Applications with API in Python

CSI student council AI & DS department had organized a two day workshop “Developing Desktop Applications with API in Python” 14th & 15th February 2024. Mr.Yash Chaudhary students of BE conducted the workshop. From basics to various desktop applications were covered in the session. More than 40+ students gained knowledge from this workshop.

Seminar on AI & ML : Impact of AI on Jobs and Current Industry Trends

Seminar based on AI & ML was organized by our AI & DS department on 31st January 2024. Speakers of this seminar(from Expertrons).1. Mr. Milan Mapara 2.Mr. Pranit Singh. Focused on Generative AI & Current Industry Trends. Speaker spoke about The widespread adoption of Generative AI could disrupt industries reliant on creative workforces, such as graphic design, writing, and music composition. It may lead to job displacement in these sectors while also creating new opportunities in AI-related fields. Organization offered different Internship opportunities to the students.

Debate Competition

CSI student council AI & DS department had organized a debate competition on 26 October 2023 for Students to generate effective critical thinking into primary issues in the given topic. Students got exposure to expand their understanding in the given topic. Students got effective thinking, while they considered others’ perspectives. Students got confidence in their own answers and evidence.

Workshop on Deep Learning using Matlab

One day hands on workshop delivered by Kunal Khandelwal (From MathWorks). The objective of the workshop was to understand the basics of Deep Learning. Students are able to create an image classification network from scratch. Created & trained deep learning networks using Deep Network Designer network App. Students learnt all the applications of Deep learning. Seminar on NPTEL Awareness

Seminar conducted on NPTEL Awareness on 12 th September 2023 by Dr. Dipti Patil to explore various courses on nptel to enhance their knowledge and implement new ideas for society. Speaker spoke about the subjects being taught by qualified professors and later getting certified by IIT and IISC.

Seminar organized on AI & ML by Kongsberg Maritime India on 08 September 2023.Seminar delivered by Mr. Darren Murphy – Sr. Vice President Technology Automation & Control Leadership / Chairman of Board – KM India , Mr. Nirav Kavishwer – Director – Software Projects & IT Management – KM India, Ms. Arti Shetty – Head HR & Admin – KM India. Speaker talked about the organization overview and their research area. They offered some internship opportunities to the students.

Competition on Start-up

A one day Start-Up competition was organized by Jawahar Education Society’s , A. C. Patil College Of Engineering, Department Of Computer Engineering in collaboration with the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Department on August 29, 2023. Students got a platform to demonstrate their Start-Ups. They got an exposure to brand and venture concepts to a bigger audience. They established relationships with potential partners and customers.

Data Science Bootcamp

The 4-day bootcamp “Data Science” was conducted by the CSI student council of the AI & DS department. The resource persons are Prof. Amol Patil, Ms. Jyotsana Parkhedkar, Ms. Khushi Singh, Mr. Yash Shrisath delivers the fundamentals to present Data Science techniques hands-on. The workshop equipped participants with a solid understanding of linear algebra’s significance in data science and provided them with the tools necessary to apply these concepts effectively in their respective domains. Participants gained familiarity with Power BI Desktop, exploring its interface, data importing options, and basic functionalities. Power BI workshop provided with practical skills and insights to leverage the tool effectively for data analysis and visualization tasks

Seminar “Unlocking Opportunities with Northeastern University Global campus”was organized by the CSI Committee of AI & DS department conducted by Our Speaker Ms. Debopriya Bhattacharya. Northern University provided a comprehensive overview of the institution’s academic prowess, research excellence, vibrant student life, and commitment to societal impact. Attendees left with a deeper understanding of the university’s values and contributions to the educational landscape.

A one day “Business Plan” competition was organized by Jawahar Education Society’s , A. C. Patil College Of Engineering, Department Of Computer Engineering in collaboration with Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Department on July 31, 2023. Students got a platform to share their business plans in different domains.

Workshop on IPR and Patenting

The Artificial Intelligence Data Science Department in association with IIC and CSI had organized a one day workshop on “IPR and Patenting” for students and faculties on 26th July, 2023. The speaker of the workshop was Dr. Asha Durafe Assistant Professor, Cyber Security Department, Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, Mumbai. It was a very interactive session in which our students and faculties gained knowledge regarding Intellectual Property Rights and Patenting.

Seminar on Artificial Intelligence & Machine learning

A one day seminar was conducted on “Artificial Intelligence & Machine learning” organized by Jawahar Education Society’s , A. C. Patil College Of Engineering, Department Of Computer Engineering in collaboration with Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Department Monday, February 27, 2023, at 11 a.m. Students got an understanding about concepts like how to create machines that can think like humans, or at least mimic human behavior in some way. ALso how to build systems that can learn from historical data, identify patterns, and make logical decisions with little to no human intervention.
